Missionaries to Guatemala

DIRKS-BRAD-134Brad and Marian Dirks are missionaries to the Central American country of Guatemala, sent out of the Northside Baptist Church in Carrollton, Texas.

Brad accepted Christ as his savior on March 19, 1966, and at age 12, at a youth summer camp committed his life to serving his savior.  He grew up going to a Christian and Missionary Alliance church.  Since age 10 he attended the Okoboji missionary bible conference lasting 10 days which has had a large impact on his mission emphasis.

Marian accepted Jesus Christ as her savior on August 6, 1979 at the age of 15. After accepting Jesus her whole life changed. She began attending The Omaha Gospel Tabernacle with her grandparents and met Brad, who she would marry at the age of nineteen.

Together they have 5 children, 4 are married and have 9 grandchildren.

In August of 2014, Northside Baptist Church took a trip with MANNA Worldwide to the country of Guatemala.  While there Marian, who has been an emergency room nurse for 20 years, had the opportunity to use her nursing skills at a clinic in the town of Aldea San Rafael El Arado and at a house visit.  During this time God called her to use her talents for the people of Guatemala.  Brad has been on numerous mission trips and has always had the desire to be a missionary.

Marian recently acquired her Masters of Science in Nursing Degree and Brad retired after 28 years with the Dallas Police Department.

On August 17, 2015, Brad and Marian moved to Antigua, Guatemala to start the incredible journey that God has called them to.
