Are You Visiting Us?

Visiting any church for the very first time can be an uncomfortable experience. Where to go? What to wear? What time to show up? What can my children expect? What can I expect? We want to put you at ease! We desire to make your first visit to Northside a refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable time for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel “at home with the family.” Here are answers to a few questions about what you might expect on your first visit.

1. Finding and Navigating the Campus

Our campus is very visible at the intersection of North Denton Drive and Kellar Springs Road/Whitlock Lane. Greeters will welcome you in the main worship center lobby and be able to direct you to the right classes and services to meet the needs of your family. They will also be able to assist with any other questions you may have.

2. What can my children expect?

Starting with secure and safe child-care, there is something special for every age. Caring nursery staff is provided every service for children up to three years old. On Sunday mornings, fun, interactive, and Bible-centered classes are offered for children ages two year olds through sixth grade in our Bible study time and two year olds through fourth grade during our Children’s Church and Kids Klub worship services.

3. What is the Sunday morning schedule?

Bible study for all ages begins at 9:00 with worship services following at 10:15 a.m.

4. What’s on the schedule for adults, and what should I expect?

Most adults attend our worship service where they enjoy and participate in the beautiful and inspiring blended music that incorporates a choir, orchestra, and special music. The music is always followed by a helpful and challenging Bible-based message from Pastor Mark. This service is typically around 75 minutes in length. Also, before the morning service there are various Adult Bible Study Classes. These classes are smaller group settings where you are invited to meet people, enjoy some coffee and participate in lessons more directly applicable to your life-stage. These smaller groups are a great way to get to know others at Northside.

5. How should I dress?

There is not a dress code at Northside for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Northside.

6. Are there services at other times?

Yes. We have a Sunday evening service (completely different from Sunday morning) that begins at 6:00 p.m. Again, in this service you’ll worship in a relaxed atmosphere enjoying great music as well as hearing another Bible-centered message from our pastor or guest speakers. On Wednesday evenings we have mid-week Bible study and prayer meeting for adults at 7:00, children’s programming (AWANA – school year @ 6:30; summer programming @ 7:00) and Ignite Youth services at 7:00. If you can’t be our guest on Sunday morning, we hope you’ll visit with us during another service time.

7. Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No. We don’t invite you to Northside for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.

If there is something we have failed to answer, please take a closer look at the additional website information or please give us a call. Whether you are new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it’s been a long time since you’ve attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Northside will be one of encouragement and inspiration. We desire to serve you and your family and are looking forward to meeting you personally. We want you to feel right at home from the very first moment you step onto the campus. We hope to meet you this Sunday!
