Read the Bible in One Year

The Bible has long been considered one of the most important books of human history. Nevertheless, very few people have actually read the Bible from cover to cover. Few books have influenced civilization to the extent that the Bible has–reading it will broaden your understanding of history, religion and philosophy. Indeed, reading through the entire Bible is a rewarding experience for anyone–regardless of your background or faith. Religious skeptics are welcome to join the team!

You can join the current year’s team at any time throughout the year. If you start after January 1st you can simply begin reading along at whatever point we’re currently at. For example, if you choose to begin on March 1st, you would start reading along with the team in Leviticus 24. In January and February of the following year, you would backtrack to Genesis and complete the remainder of the books you missed.

Each day consists of passages from the Old Testatment, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. Simply select the month and translation of your choice, then click on the date to link to the passages for the day, or use the plan as a reference to read passages directly from your Bible.

Daily readings are based upon and meant to be a complement to the popular One Year Bible available from Tyndale House Publishers, with which we are not affiliated. Daily readings are powered by BibleGateway.com, and reflect passages from the King James Version.
