Easter Sunrise Service

  • 400 Freeport Parkway Coppell, TX, 75019 United States (map)

You are invited to take part in a special service held in an unusual place.
At 7:00, Sunday morning, April 17th we will gather at the Rolling Oaks Cemetery, 400 Freeport Pkwy, Coppell, Texas to rejoice that we have hope in a place often known for sorrow and pain.  That is the hope we have in Christ – to be able to “rise above” the circumstances a cruel and often painful world.  We would love to see you there.

We generally think of a cemetery as a place to bury the dead with any gatherings there associated with the memory of the dead.  However, on this particular Sunday morning we gather for a much different reason.  Instead of mourning the lost of the deceased, we rejoice in the resurrection of Christ, Who rose from the dead on that first Easter Sunday morning.  We gather in a cemetery for this occasion to be reminded of the hope we have because of Christ’s resurrection in a place typically given to sadness and loss.  On that first Easter morning, it was in a setting associated with a burial place that women came to finish the embalming process of Jesus Who had died by crucifixion three days earlier.  When they arrived at the break of day, to their amazement they learned that Jesus was not there but had, in fact, risen from the dead.
